The keyboard monitors its own cleaning status and uses user-defined, time-based cleaning alerts, with a blinking light reminding users when the next cleaning is due. The clinical studies showed this system improved compliance with cleaning protocols from 27% to 87%.
The keyboard uses a flat, flexible silicone surface designed to leave no place for pathogens to hide during wipe-down. The keyboard can be disinfected effectively in around ten seconds without having to unplug it, and that the durable hypoallergenic silicone cover is impervious to hospital-grade cleaners. For deeper cleaning, the housing is fully washable and waterproof to IP67 when rinsing or full submersion is required.
For daily usability, the keyboard includes a push-button cleaning mode that disables input during wipe-down so there are no unintended keystrokes. Under the surface, a high-quality scissor-style keyboard mechanism supports comfortable and efficient typing, and three levels of backlighting help with use in dark or low-light environments.
